No matter what the circumstance
No matter how things are
Acknowledging the part we play,
The most revealing truth
By far.

The world presents a picture
We design and pave our way
Selecting daily costumes,
Choosing parts we'll play

This does not mean we are to blame
Or deserve the pain and sorrow
Yet if we ask what part we play
It just might change tomorrow

It might unlock the chains that bind
Empower us to soar
Challenge us to a higher place
While opening new doors

I have played so many parts
The star of my own show
I have stumbled and fallen
Many times...
With no place left to go

They say life comes full circle
What we give we shall receive
I hope by knowing
What part I play...
Myself, I won't deceive
